Hummer H3For the Hummer driver who wants the rugged look and off road capabilities of the Hummer, but in a smaller size and with a more fuel economy friendly engine.
So my newly installed, by a pro, SiriusXM tuner died after 3 months of use. They are dispatching another one, but contacted the installer & he told me to disconnect the battery. So did that. As I waited the requisite 3 minutes, I began to look under the hood, the engine compartment, etc.
1- the top photo is under the hood. It appears the insulator pad is missing? Please tell me I am wrong.
2- The second row of pictures are the left & right of the engine area. On the LH photo you can see a rubber piece (no idea what it is called, looked it up, but can't find it), but it is missing on the RH photo. Is that correct? I don't believe so.
3- In the 3rd row, you can see the thin rubber that has come lose, dried out, etc. It seems to run down to the fender bump outs, any idea how best to fix that.
Also, not pictured is the louver, it appears as thought the rubber that went around it is gone. Any way to replace just the rubber (any idea of the part number)?
1. What insulator pad? Used to be. back in maybe 2008 and before you could have the dealer install an under-hood insulator blanket, or order one from any GM part supplier. Not very popular, very few ever had that, and GM discontinued them pretty quick. Hummer H3 underhood blanket 17800341 $81 plus hefty shipping. I have been around and in many H3s, I think I saw 2 of those ever.
2. 2006-2010 Hummer H3 & H3T Hood Bumper Seal LH or RH New OEM 25786729 15856652 about $17.00
3. Mild glue. My favorite is a dab of Shoe Goo. It is supposed to be held in place by tension.... which works until they get old, tired and loose their grip.
4. Nope, the hood louver is an all encompassing one part assembly. Can't just order rubber seal molding as a separate part for the louver, but it is the same thing as the SEAL: Floor And Toe Panel. Front Fender Panel. Rear Wheel Opening Cover15814597 about $32 and cut to length. The hood louver only had that across the back, not all the way around. You won't be able to get the louver off to install it across the back if it had the "glue it down recall" done.

Reason: Got the price backwards $81 not 18

To put this insanity to bed, buyer will get the ones that got shipped on my 07 H2 SE from the factory.
So buyer knows they are OEM without a doubt.
The ones pictured in detail below. They fall under one of the 5+ part numbers listed in this thread.
These are USED condition.
Pretty much perfect on the 3 sides you can see. Some chrome peel on the bottom side, that is not visible when these are mounted on the vehicle.
