Default Transmission cooler suggestion

I took doc advice and got a ScanGauge . Went for a little drive transmission fluid was at 187-190 I don’t think that’s too bad but I heard that having its own cooler can affect cooling down ur engine too because it doesn’t have to cool both, right ? Thinking maybe that’s the next project . Any suggestion on transmission cooler and installation and such would be appreciated

also for the scan guage 2, does anyone know the engine oil pressure command to add? And the engine oil temperature? I looked everywhere I try to add some that I found online but no luck

Not sure you can get oil temp or oil psi through the ScanGauge2. Go to their web site and look up X Gauge Commands.

I am going to add on a small auxiliary cooler and after the cooler in the bottom of the Radiator (the one that so many Chicken Littles are afraid of ). Going to be this year's Winter mod just after the Holidays before I stash the truck in my Mom's attached Garage until almost Spring.

228F is too hot for just driving with nothing being towed. When was the last time your Trans Fluid & Filter were changed? What is the level and color quality of the fluid in there now?

I am looking at a Derale (13 Row) #13613 Plate and Fin, slightly thicker than some of the competition at 1.25". The size is 9 3/4" x 8 7/16" x 1 1/4", small enough so I can mount it over to the Passenger side, (high or low?) and leave lots of open air to still get at the Condenser and Radiator. In MI that is likely all I will need. They make a smaller one, and larger too.

lol I Wana follow ur lead sir
But I changed the transmission fluid and filter roughly 2 years ago with ams signature transmission fluid but I barely drive the hummer I have 122k miles on it . When I check the transmission fluid still very red and clean l. And ur right that’s too hot cus I start noticing my temperature of the engine /coolant start to go up when the transmission fluid temp start start to go up . Which one you recommend for my situation? Now remember I live in Florida it’s so dman hot in summer so the more cooling for the transmission the better . I don’t know the different or what you mean between low or high ? Can you post a link on where to buy it and how much it cost? I was doing a research and I saw this on the other hummer forum. https://hummer4x4offroad.com/forum/t...pictures.7076/
is this a good one? And would it cool enough ? It looks like it’s easy to install and hook up

I went with the 40,000 GVW cooler, there's a few good brands on Amazon, I think TruCool is one of them and a few cheaper alternatives.

40,000GVW may be an overkill lol but my transmission is running about 140-150F and engine temp 180-190F, 200F at most now that the outdoor temps have cooled. But in July/August when it was 110F outside, with the transmission cooler I didn't see transmission temp higher than 176F and engine temperature under load would get to 215F or so. I replaced everything cooling related on my car, external transmission cooler did the trick.

Make sure your fan clutch is good and working correctly. I know you mentioned your changed out your radiator & thermostat. Your temps seem pretty high for just general driving around.

yes I changed my fan clutch and all all brand new and working great but like doc said if transmission heat getting there it’s gonna raise the temperature of the car cus now it’s working to cool both
