Was loading some groceries into the luggage compartment of the Alpha this afternoon and noticed that some of the wires in the wiring loom from the body to rear bumper had chafed. They had apparently rubbed on the body which cut through the wires' insulation. You can only see this with the "tail gate" open or, from under the truck maybe.

Saw a write up about this on the forum somewhere while I was browsing before, but never thought I had the problem as all my lights work fine. Guess I'll be doing some electrical repairs over the weekend. Didn't realize all our trucks were so similar.

 

Common location for a short. Killed my 2007's battery a couple times until I spotted the problem, created more slack in the harness and used some tape and liquid electric tape for protection.
