Or maybe the TPMS doesn't even use the same antenna wire, but rather an internal antenna on the BCM? It's quite possible that the TPMS was in fact still working when your antenna was unplugged, but because your tires weren't low and the sensor batteries were OK, it gave no DIC messages.
The TPMS & Keyless entry use the same antenna.

I will type slowwwwww to help you understand.
A TPMS in a tire with low air pressure/no signal sends a low/no signal to the BCM, and the BCM sends a signal to the IPC to warn the driver LOW TIRE/SERV TPM!
If you have a TPMS code stored in the BCM, and replace the TMPS sensors, yet unable to program due to the antenna reception, you will still get a TPMS warning on the IPC!
However, if you don't have any codes in the BCM(erase), you can disconnect the antenna in turn the BCM will never receive a low/no signal, to report/display on the IPC.

The only thing that has actually been verified is that the TPMS and the RKFs use the same antenna, verified by Schwarttzy. I admit that you were right on that. The rest? Nope.
We know that the BCM would interpret no signal from 1 sensor as a bad/dead sensor, no signal from 2 sensors as 2 bad/dead sensors, and no signal from 3 sensors as 3 bad/dead sensors. But you have convinced yourself (though no one else) that no signal from 4 sensors would be NOT be interpreted as bad/dead sensors. Why? I will repeat, per Schwarttzy: "The service TMPS warning dash light is on because the vehicle can’t hear the radio signal".

Perhaps this has already been addressed but...there are various types of antennas...each has a special or specific function.
However, in my research, I can only verify the sending or receiving of a signal. I don't believe that the antenna differentiates which system the information is from. Yes, the antenna is "enabling" both TPMS and key fob to connect to the logic board (for lack of a better description).
But, the antenna does not perform any other function.
I trust that this post will not incite a riot, spread a dreaded disease or impugn anyone's virtue!
If you think my information is incorrect, I am more than happy to read your post (without attaching stupid gifs or screaming in bold font).

So what's the difference between the BCM receiving no signal from 1, 2, or 3 sensors vs 4 sensors? Never mind, you have no clue what the difference is, and cannot explain why the BCM would act differently.
