Default TPMS Mystery

2008 H3 Alpha, 59k miles. My 'LOW TIRE' message came on today and would not turn off even with several ignition cycles. All tires checked and were at proper inflation. I used my TPMS scanner and every sensor was transmitting with an accurate reading . I'm stumped.

What psi are you set at? Colder temp lowers psi readings.

What is the ambient temp when confirmed?

And around 34°F outside. Set/check tire pressures cold! The inflation pressure in tires generally drops by 1 to 2 psi for every 10 degrees the temperature lowers. Simply add a few psi for winter. I recommend 35psi, however I set my LT285's at 38psi.

I simply don't understand why GM thought this TPMS was ever a good idea. If I could totally remove it, I would.

I just over inflated my tires from the recommended 30 psi to 35 psi. Low Tire light still on. Used my sensor scanner to check and all sensors are still outputting an accurate signal. The only thing that comes to mind is maybe one (or more) of the sensors lost the 'handshake' signal to the BCM and needs a relearn. I know there's a procedure the owner can do, but never having done it I think I'll take it up to Discount Tire next week.

If you have time, the procedure is in your factory manual to rest the stupid TPMS. Only takes time... good luck with your work.
