timing chain tension
Are you asking if it is OK tor turn the engine counter clockwise with the crank bolt? If so, it doesn't matter, the engine is a rotating assembly, rotate away.
You do not have to remove the Oil Pan to change the chain, just loosen the bolts to their last threads which lets the front of the Oil Pan lower 1/2" or so so you can get the oil pick up tube bolt out of the oil pump to remove that. Swap the chain, put the pump back, get the pick up tube bolt started and tighten to speck (look it up it is like 9 ft.lbs. = hand snug with small wrench). Torque the Oil Pan Bolts and that is done.
Good luck.

thank you I was just making sure because I heard if you turn it the opposite way you may mess up timing or skip teeth or mess up ur engine but I already got the pan out I just unscrewed the engine mount and lifted the engine up and that gave me clearance to get it out. Cleaned it and all and now putting everything back
Took off the front timing cover and changed the chain, guides and tensioner. Took the oil pan and cleaned it . Resealed everything and installed it back . The head is closed and complete just got few things to install back like the exhaust manifold and intake and belt and all then I am gonna flush the coolant with distilled water few times and refill it . Pray it’s good to go
So the car runs fine but I had a small problem. I was test driving it around the neighborhood and I was on a turn and all the sudden I lost like throttle I press on the gas it’s like nothing and then the steering wheel lik got harder when trying to turn it . I turned off the car and then it back on and it ran fine but then when I was pulling on the drive way it like hesitated. What could be the problem?
