timing chain guide question

timing chain guide question

I noticed while doing the timing chain on my 2009 H3t 3.7 that the top chain guide is missing. Was there a change in this on newer models?

Yes, I believe this was a change in either 2008+ models or very late 2007 models.

Wouldn't be cool if GM kept track of when, as in what date & SN#, all changes took place? Instead, we know it happened about such and such time, but have no exact certainty.

Okay, good to know, seems like all timing chain kits come with the top guide. I noticed there was no place for it but wanted to make sure, thanks
