Is there a way to stop driver's side mirror from vibrating on the HWY?
Hummer H3For the Hummer driver who wants the rugged look and off road capabilities of the Hummer, but in a smaller size and with a more fuel economy friendly engine.
lol, this was a great thread to read. If you haven’t figured it out by this point, I’ll come out and say it: KEEP IT SIMPLE!! There are a few things on this car where the “simple fix” should be acceptable and I think this falls under that category.
I just recently went through this with both mirrors and elected to go the route that my guy from the rainy YouTube video went. Mixed up some epoxy in the garage and spread it over the top like he explains. Other than letting it dry overnight, had both sides done in 5 minutes total. I did have to go back and add a bit more to the driver’s side after a few days with it, but it was fast and free and most importantly, stress free.

Passenger door window “fix” with epoxy
But why didn't you just tighten the screw?!? Oh, wait.....

Why don't you go look in deeper? The bolt secures the track plate for the arm trim pivot. The metal arm pivot point is underneath the track plate. If my mirror ever gets loose, I will take it apart and post pictures of the construction inside.

So you agree that the bolt isn't the pivot; it secures the track plate (which I called the base...tomato/tomatoe). So there are 2 things that could be happening with a loose/vibrating mirror; either that bolt is loose (which is easily fixed by tightening) OR the pivot is worn (which the bolt will not fix).

By all means, please do so; I'd love to see how that pivot is constructed. I have no reason to "go look in deeper" since neither of my mirrors have the problem. Yet.
