What time of day do you get home? My experience with the sensor when I had the same dash cover as you was that the auto head lights would come on before I expected. Basically broad daylight on the dash and they were off. Pull into the garage, park under an overpass for a red light, or drive on a cloudy day and they would turn on.

Yes, mine does the exact same thing as yours. I'm off everyday by 1 pm I'm working on installing a European switch so I can manually turn the auto function off completely.

 

And having the headlights on is bad because...?

 

The main reason I want to remove them is because I'm going to install 7" Led head lights and 4" Led fog lights and don't want them on all the time.
