My 2006 H3 starts and shuts off immediately. This started after I changed the switch at the back of the switch cylinder to solve the pass lock issue.
I did not change the entire cylinder.
This happened before and it was a blown BCM fuse. Wondering if its a fuel pump issue or security issue.
When the ignition is on the Security light stays solid. After it starts and shuts off the light blinks about 3 times and goes back solid.
I checked battery terminal as other suggested.

 

Did you clean the switch connector with CRC Electronics Cleaner? If you "checked" the OEM Battery Terminal, that is good, but checked does not equal replace with a quality aftermarket set like Stingers or your favorite brand. Every one of the OEM Battery Terminal connectors are junk and need to be replaced a long time ago.

 

We will remove the connector and clean with CRC cleaner. No longer using the original terminals. The ones we have now are not in great shape so I'll replace anyway.

Should the Security light be on solid when the ignition is on?

 

No it should not.

 

I solved the problem. The issue was the new switch that I installed. After going back to an old switch the vehicle start right up. While diagnosing the problem I ran into a second problem where I had no ignition, no lights no horn. Completely dead except for the engine light. I checked all fuses, fuse box connection, battery terminal.

Power / Ignition came back after removing cables from BCM and putting them back. I return the bad switch.
