Default stereo Monsoon??

I have just purchased a 08 H3. Is the monsoon stereo system the system with the sub in the back? I want to add a amp and sub and new speakers I don't have the system with sub. I like the controls on stock head leaning on keeping it and upgrade from there any suggestions??

Yes, the Monsoon audio system has the subwoofer in the rear, on the drivers side. You can see a Monsoon emblem on the black panel.

There are a ton of audio threads that people have posted, with tips and suggestions on replacements. I myself have the monsoon audio and it's pretty damn good for stock, so I've kept it.

petty hard to duplicate the monsoon system or improve on it from stock since the speakers are wired different as well as the drive from the head end.

it feeds the rear amp with 4 signals and the amp feeds 7 speakers with the woof having 2 voice coils.
its a smashing crisp system imo none better

Ok thanks well I was pretty sure of that I do not have that system sounds like it is great pardon the pun. Well I will look for options on upgrade for stock system as I said don't want to replace stock head. Just amp it and amp and add sub for back. Replace my head in my Silverado I just like the stock controls over after market any one on advise in that direction?

You will have two compartments in the back if you don't have the monsoon system

Does anyone know the OEM part # of the rear driver's side interor trim panel that covers the Monsoon sub?

I have a non-Monsoon system but bought the JL Audio Stealthbox and a Rockford Fosgate sub amp and ready to rumble. I've seen it on the forums, I think but maybe someone has it handy.

Thanks!

That's interesting - never seen that.

tbh, I don't really like the look / font of that. I'd rather have it look as factory as possible. I'm down to buy the panel but would rather save some money doing so, hence seeking the OEM Part #.

You'd still have to shave out the shelf that comes with the factory (non-Monsoon) panel.

Thanks though! :]

So................... why are you digging up this useless OLD AZZED Thread to tack on a question?

Your speakers died, replace with quality aftermarket upgrade along with the crappy OEM sub.
