Default Hummer H3 not sure what is wrong

The car takes off fine until it hits 20mph, then the rpms go from 1000 to 5000, like you were rev bombing it in neutral.

Not trying to put bad mojo on you but could be torque converter or trans slipping

I had an issue with my H3 hitting second gear pretty hard sometimes. It wasn't always consistent, but it happened often. Maybe this is similar to your issue. After some research, I learned it could be the speed sensor not working properly. The speed sensor is a $30 part in the transfer case that takes only takes a few minutes to replace. After I replaced my speed sensor, the issue went away. I also did a transfer case flush at the same time. That only takes 15 minutes.

Here's the one I bought, the OEM sensor, part number 411436:
MP1222LD MP1225HD MP1226XHD MP1625HD MP1626XHD MP3023LD MP3024HD NP246 NP261 NP261XHD NP263 NP263XHD NP236 NP149 NP136 NP126 NP226 TRANSFER CASE OUTPUT SPEED SENSOR ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT (22512) - The American Powertrain Warehouse

Hi there, I am having the same problem with my 2007 h3 hummer, takes off fine then from 2nd to 3rd, the rpms shoot from 1000 to 5000 and I also cannot go over 30mph. Was wondering what your issue ended up being? I'm thinking the speed sensor but found this thread and thought I would reach out to you first. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to HF. You dug up an Old Azzed thread to ask a question. That is NOT how we do it here. READ: Old Threads/'Necro-Bumping'

This is a great example of a crappy thread, it provides insufficient information, the OP never bothered to include Year, Model, Miles or recent work done prior to onset of symptoms. There is no resolution either to this simple question. So WHY tack your question on the end of an OLD Thread to ask another question? Just post up your question with the above basic info to be included with ever tech question.

Answer....... ready.............. Your Transmission is slipping, you likely need a rebuild. Of course that would depend upon miles and maintenance to the vehicle based upon its type of use.

Ask yourself, when was the last time the Transmission fluid and filter were changed???????
