Replaced 3.7 Engine - Computer problem??
Hello fellow H3 enthusiasts!
I am new to this site and I was wondering if anyone could help me out with the following :
I bought 3 H3 Hummers and had them shipped to the island where I live ( close to Aruba ).
- my personal H3 is a 2006 with the 3.5 works just fine ( Florida vehicle )
- surprised my wife with a 2007 3.7 H3 works great too ( also Florida vehicle )
- And since my son just turned 18 and got his drivers license I got him a 2008 3.7 H3. This last vehicle came from Boston and has given me all kinds of problems!
The engine had horrible compression and I decided to swap out the engine. Used my VIN which used an E for the 8th digit. Found a good used one which came of a Chevy Colorado, also a 2008 E VIN code.
Now the issue : Engine swapped it threw al kinds of codes for sensors, replaced ALL except for crank sensor. Starts up after 1 or 2 times try- runs irregular and even sometimes stalls- after about 2or 3 minutes it finds its sweet spot - RPM’s stay consistent and drives and shifts great. I turn off the engine, turn it back ON and again it needs the 2 or 3 minutes to running stable again.
P0366 keeps poppin up, and sometimes P0014 as well.
- Everything is connected except that the replacement engine has a sensor on the front side of the engine and the original wire harnas of my 2008 H3 does not have this wire.
I tried to see if my 2 other H3’s have this wire but they don’t.
- We don’t have a Chevy dealership on the island so I can’t go that route.
Pretty annoyed cause it runs so good after 3 minutes of stumbling on timing.
Hope anyone can help- its been a year and I’ve tried so much already- love to hand this H3 over to my son for him to Enjoy.
Much appreciated
- Sebastian
