3.5L engine replacement
I bought an '06 with 150k miles and it needs either engine work or a new engine. I figured I can swap the engine faster than doing internal work, so that is the route I want to go.
I read where after installing another engine, I need a PCM flash. Is the flash only required if using the Canyon engine or is it required if I get an H3 engine as well? Can I swap sensors from the original engine to the new used engine and forgo the PCM flash?

Thanks in advance.

Previous owner (my boss) had to add oil on a regular basis. He failed to add oil and the engine developed a bad noise, then he drove it about 30 miles.
My boss took it to the dealership where our company vehicles are purchased and maintained. Without pulling it into the garage, they started it, heard the noise, and gave an estimate of $5,500 for a new engine.
I bought it at a reduced price and drove it around the dealership parking lot. It stalled on me at a stop sign if I did not keep the engine speed above idle. One time it stalled and did not want to restart. It would idle in park or neutral, but not too well in drive.
