Read If Your H3 Radiator Has Cracked or Leaked
since replacing the radiator seems like a domino effect ..i have had to replace the shift sensor and now in shop to have the front input speed sensor, which means they have to pull transmission so a 60 dollar part is costing over 600 with the labor,,anyone else having problems like this?
My 07 H3 radiator had the same crack in it on the driver's side. I tried sealing it up with epoxy, but it seemed to bust through every few days. After a month or so of reapplying epoxy and refilling coolant, I used one of the "radiator repair" sticks that you can get at advance auto, it's pretty much just like JB weld. You just knead it between your fingers for a few seconds and slap it on. That stuff actually worked really well when applied in a thick enough layer. I didn't get a single leak after putting it on. Unfortunately, all that time spent using epoxy and refilling coolant took it's toll on the TOC in the radiator. Took her in to the dealer today to check on a transmission slip to find out that it fried itself. Come Tuesday my pockets are gonna be about $2000 lighter, and I'll be the proud owner of a new radiator and transmission. The moral of the story: If your radiator is cracked, spend the money to replace it or replace it yourself RIGHT AWAY. The damn thing is too important to the expensive parts of your rig!
I installed an aftermarket radiator on a friends' h3 today. They went through the whole process like I did with ours and were turned down by G.M. I don't understand G.M.'s reasoning. They told my friend that they had too many miles for them to replace it, and also that the crack could have been caused by something else. That is complete B.S. We know what caused the crack. Anyway, they didn't want to fight it so they bought an aftermarket one with a lifetime warrantee. It cost them $180 for the radiator, and my labor.....Bud Light.
ANyway, the process went smooth pretty much. Until we set the new rad in place. It touched the frame in the corners and in the center where the brace is that you bolt the rad down with. It was much closer than his original rad and hitting in multiple spots on the frame. He didn't have time to return it and try another one, so I ground that frame back about 3/4 of an inch all the way across. It has good clearance now, but the fact is still that this is a horrible design flaw that G.M. sometimes admits to and sometimes does not.
I really wish that people would have banded together and stuck with the class action lawsuit. I do know the process was underway last year, but somehow just stalled and whoever was getting it going gave up or something. I don't know, but I do know that thousands of h3 owners have had this problem and it is not because of owner fault that the rad cracks. It's because of a poor design. If I had the money and know how I would definitely pursue this further but at this point, most people have already replaced their rads.

Ok, I've done everything, cannot get GM to pay a dime. So, I need to get a new radiator asap.
I've seen the Silla radiator for about $150.00 or so. Saw someone on here say it has not leaked a drop in the past year that they put it in.
I've seen other people write that the cheaper ones are not as thick or something and run hotter?
So, what is the best choice when you do not have a ton of money to spend? Thanks.

I recently purchased my 07 h3 in march and a few days ago i had to take it in (65k) because i smelt antifreeze and noticed antifreeze on top of my radiator cover and it looked like it splashed up on top of my engine cover as well. They told me i had a small crack in the bottom driver side area of my radiator and it would be about $700 to fix but when i purchased the vehicle it came with an ASE warranty on it for 4 yrs/48,000 miles. Warranty is covering everything but fluid refill and tax but it still seems like a good deal to me...but it seems like i need to keep an eye out on this issue just in case it happens again.
