Default 2007 H3 40k miles

My H3 is currently at a GM dealer and less than three months out of warranty on the drivetrain. Dealer said something broke in the radiator causing the fluids to mix and run into my transmission. I now need my transmission rebuilt along with a new radiator and was quoted $3500 and they were able to get GM to cover 60% so I will have to pay $1370 out of pocket. Sorry I am not too car savvy but this seems to be related to the problem listed in this thread and was wondering if anyone else had luck getting GM to cover the entire cost. It just seems insane to me that I am barely out of warranty and them not wanting to stand behind their products. Does this price seem reasonable for those two things?

This has nothing to do with the problem listed in this thread. You're problem is inside and the problem on this thread is on the outside of the radiator.

Out of warranty means out of warranty. Does'nt much matter if it's 1 hour or 1 year. The fact that they have desided to give you a 60% discount I'd call that good and pay the difference. $1370 to you is more than reasonable for a trany removal, rebuild and reinstall. I would say that IS standing behind their product as they could have told you (and rightly so since you have no warranty) hit the road... Many folks don't get that lucky, like when GM knew the adhesive they used durring production would cause the paint to bubble and flake off of the ladder year 4th generation Camaro and Firebirds and told owners to eat it as they refused to remedey the issue. Ask me how I know..

Because I'm a 4 time f-body owner. The problem is common on every f-body produced after 1998. As well as a senior member for nearly 4 years (over 9000 posts) of an f-body forum with more than 50,000 members.

Found my cracked radiator / leak today and I had put in some foam cushion at the top mount too (when new) but the crack must be where the plastic tank meets the aluminum . It is a 2009 with only 33,000 miles on it . At least it is still under it's 4 yr/50,000 mi warranty. FYI : This was on a 2009.

I replaced the radiator on my 06 almost a year after my warranty ended, had 45K miles on the truck. Now I also have a 09 alpha, and I noticed anti freeze smell coming from my truck. I open the hood and guess what, I see the radiator leaking from somewhere around the top. Now its at the dealers being fixed, cover by warranty.

Did you take it to an ex-Hummer dealer or to a GM dealer that never had a Hummer store ?

Angry 2007 h3

same thing happened to mine at about 65k miles although i see you people paying a ridiculous amount of money for it, i found it online for 250 and 100 for installation which took about hour and a half and the part is OEM i do not recall the website but I could find it for anyone that really needs the info, and the frame does hit the middle of the radiator and since its a shaky motor at least mine is im sure it will happen again, i am going to put some kind of padding in that area and hope it does not happen again.
