I told her I have many people on this hummer site with the same problem, even some that I have spoken to that are going to give me their case number if needed to show that GM paid for the whole thing and this is a manufacturers flaw. She said that wouldn't be necessary since those cases are separate from this case and are irrelevant. I told her they are relevant because it is the same issue as mine. I'll see what she has to say tomorrow. You were right. they are going to go back and forth with me, but I will not give in. They are paying for this.

It's situations like this that made me glad I forked out the cash for the 7 year extended warranty!

If gm doesn't tell you they are going to cover it then you will be contacting other h3 owners and getting ahold of a lawyer for a class action lawsuit and then the court will make them replace it.

from what I am gathering from all these posts is that it doesn't seem to be random on if GM covers it but I think it mostly comes down to your dealership and service manager. I just took mine in and explained everything to him and after my original call to gm never had to speak to them again, I took it in and a few hours later the service manager called me and confirmed that it was cracked and if I'll pay the hundred dollar deductible they'll have the radiator the next day and take care of it. I told him go ahead and to add an oil change and not do the recall on the hood vent. a day later they called and said it was done so I picked it up with a new design radiator, oil change, chassis lube, multi point inspection, no reall work, and freshly washed and dried.

What would be really helpful for all would be for those who have had GM pay the entire cost for a new radiator, to write a post with their case numbers so those who follow (me in the future) can reference those to GM and cut the BS right before it starts with them.
We also need someone with the knowhow to start a class action suit to get this situation fixed. Sure, the Hummer line has been discontinued (bad move by GM), there are still many Hummers out there. Mine has the noted standard "wrinkles" in the radiator plastic (about a 6" line) and also the groove wearing in the upper radiator support so it is going to go one of these days. 2007, just turned 49000 miles.

By grinding off the offending lip on the support, you can greatly prolong or avoid the failure at the area of contact.

Perhaps you don't realize there are two problems with the factory radiator. 1) The tank may crack on it's own to the right of the support, or 2) The tank may perforate at the point of it rubbing on the lip of the radiator support.
My radiator was replaced under warranty with the new style tank, but it still had contact with the lip of the support. It would have worn through the new tank without removing the lip. If you don't have a contact issue, that's good news for you. But for those that do, it needs addressed or it may ruin a perfectly good radiator, or speed up the cracking of the inferior factory unit due to unnecessary added pressure and vibration.

Well I just got off the phone with GM my 07 only has 38K and they are telling me they take it on a case by case bases. They are not paying for the repair and I'm still fighting with them and have asked to go above the second level of person I spoke with telling me they are not paying.
What was the original warranty? I'm being told 4yr/50,000 is this correct?
I'm not going to take No for an answer so anymore information I can use please let me know. Thanks in advance.
