Hi i had question i searched and couldn’t really find the answer to. I own a 2008 Hummer H3 Alpha, I had a flat tire and had to replace it with a used tire, same size but different amount of tread and brand, will that affect the 4wd system? I was planning on trying to get new tires anyways in february. Just saving . Was wanting 285/75/16

I came across a ad for a set of 4 used tires, but same brand and tread, but the size was 255/88/16. The guy said they are 33in just like the 285:75/16 but skinny. Has anyone ever used these on a H3? Will they fit? Thank you for any input.

 

Brand is important information to your question as different brands may actually be different diameter and tread width even though using the same 255/88/16. They should fit, but will look goofy.

The question is why? Why go to some old off size just to put used tires on your truck thinking you are saving a buck?
