Default Looking at new tires

Hey guys - I just got my alpha, no off-road packageand I currently have 265/75/r16 on the rims. They are all right but I am looking at the Good Year Wrangler Silent Armor 285/75/r16 to replace my current tires. I am assuming the 285's will fit just fine on an '08 Alpha non-offroad package. Anyone know for sure?

Thanks!

The 33" tires will fit just fine! I just added 285/75/16's to my 07 H3 (no off-road package) and it's been just fine so far.

you can go up to 35" tires on ANY h3 made...they all have the same suspension...just different shocks, which means nothing as far as clearance.

Thanks for the reply - 2 extra questions. Do you think their will be a change in gas mileage by going from a 265 tire to a 285 tire? Also is their any issue I need to know about if I do change the stock tires with the tire pressure monitoring stuff? Does the tire store need to move the monitoring pieces to the new tires? (Sorry for the stupid question, I just don't know enough about the TPM system and want to know if I am going to lose this service when going to a new set of tires).

Thanks!

can't answer the tpm question, but your mileage will certainly look worse, since the speedo/odo are calibrated for a smaller tire. this means your odo will think you've only gone a mile when you've gone somewhat more than a mile, therefore using more gas to register a mile on the odo. my "mileage" went to crap when i put bigger tires on, but once i reprogrammed the odo for the correct size tire, it wasn't as drastic as originally reported. still, you could put 40" tires on and still get better mileage than another forum member, who shall remain anonymous . . . . . . .

The TPM's are mounted directly onto the rim via the valve stem. Nothing to move with the tires unless you change rims. I'm pretty sure the owners manual tells you how to reprogram the TPM's through the DIC. If not, I'm sure someone on here can tell you how.

The only stupid question is the one you don't ask or the one you ask that already has 5 threads on it.

Is the only difference between the standard suspension and adventure package the shocks?
