I still have the rattling noise in my engine compartment I think it may be coming from the AC compressor, AC works great but when I had everything broke apart and inspected all the pulleys I would give it a good turn and would here some grinding coming from it, any chance that's where the noise could be coming from? if so how labor intensive is it to change. I'm a firefighter don't have a lot of free time. thanks for your help!

Ever hear of a mechanics stethoscope?

Mechanic's Stethoscope

I used a stethoscope, the noise is definitely the AC compressor my question is; can I buy just the AC clutch or do I have to buy the whole compressor? Thanks for all the help!

Normally you can buy the clutch only. Do some research though many times you can find the compressor with it for 40-50 bucks more. Then u have the choice to use the clutch only now and still have the compressor for when it goes...Or do it all at once your choice..If the the clutch is 50% or less the cost of a complete unit, just do the clutch id say, and don't open up the a/c system unless you have the right tools...most of us don't since laws and gases have changes..recovery unit, vacumn, gauges etc..

Good luck..Wish I would have saw this post before tonight, may have helped more..
