Default Lower rear of H3

I was wondering if anyone has had success lowering the back of the hummer H3 about 1 inch or so. I really do not want to go with a lowering block as that hurts clearance under the axle. I was hoping there was a company that makes weaker rear springs for the back. I do not tow at all and really just want to lower the back to closer to the front. I have the torsion bars cranked at the moment to 23.25 but would rather drop the front to about 23 and lower the back about an inch. It is a 2007 H3 with the adventure package if that makes any difference.

Thank you for your assistance!

I would respectfully suggest you worry about some other issue, like tires, adding UCP or rock rails.

Or...... just add some weight in the back.

Personally I would never lower the rear, especially since it is an Adventure made to be wheeled. If you lowered it, then put two adults in the back seat with gear for everybody in the back, you would be draggin hiney.

To answer your question, I am not aware of any such weaker rear leafs. If you have a local spring company you can order up whatever you want. We have several near Detroit, but shipping would be nasty.

The Groundforce 2" rear drop worked very well, clearance to spare, and leveled it off perfectly. $225 plus labor, no surprises. I'm not an off roader and the next person can jack it up up and away. Getting ready for sale. Bought as project for my son, and he moved away.

Thank you Doc Olds, I appreciate the insite and I understand the sacrilege of lowering a hummer. What I would really like is to come across one of the lift kits that used to exist so i could level it correctly. I have cranked the front bars to 23.25 and it looks better.

Thertner Did you paint those rims or did they come as a factory option?

Realize this is an old thread. I Recently purchase an H3 for my daughter and replaced the broken rear springs. After doing so as you can imagine, the rear sita really high. I was going to raise the front but she came across this thread and loves the way your lowered H3 looks. THertner do you remember what size tires were on your truck? Hers currently has 265 on but needs new tires and we were thinking of going to 285 to fill in the wheel well but didn't want to go through all the reprogramming. Thank you in advance

There is no "need" to program anything to go one plus on tires, bazillions of people have done it. If you realized this was an OLD thread, then why post in it?????? THertner last activity 11-16-2020 10:16 AM

So, you want to buy a lowering kit, or turn a T Bar bolt?

Good luck.

I was hoping to get a response from THertner. She liked the look of his truck and figured it would be easier to ask for information from someone who did it already. He mentioned the lower kit he use and if I can get the same tire size then I would have the same look without any trial and error. Tires aren't cheap these days.

This is an OLD AZZED Thread, like FOUR YEARS OLD, so who are you talking to??? Note my post above "THertner last activity 11-16-2020 10:16 AM" That is more than 5 years ago. Your question was already answered. Stock OEM wheels, sandblasted and powder coat.

Anyways, welcome to HF. READ: Old Threads/'Necro-Bumping'
