Hummer H3For the Hummer driver who wants the rugged look and off road capabilities of the Hummer, but in a smaller size and with a more fuel economy friendly engine.
I've had this issue since I've owned my hummer, I have NO clue why it happens.. if I open my front doors, my interior lights don't come on, if I open my rear. They come on, if I close my rear with the fronts still open, they stay on, if I close the fronts, they turn off. I'm lost
Most likely the door switch. I had to replace a number of mine. Very easy job, unless the connector is corroded (happened to me on the back gate). If that is the case, connectors are available, but you'll need to splice the wires.
But again, if that is not the case, it is literally unscrew (one screw), unplug old, plug in new, screw back in.
If you don't think it is the door switches (because the lights stay depending on the order of you opening, closing doors), then it could be a ground. The power for the interior lights does not flow through the actual switches, so the computer could be seeing weird voltages if the circuits are floating, especially considering some of the switches are grouped together.
However, it appears that the switches are wired in left side right side, not front and back.
Easy test would be to pull the switch and short the connector with a paper clip.
