Just wanted to say that a week later and the issue is gone still. It seems permanent.

 

I am having this identical problem, only it's been getting worse. Now sometimes it shuts off on its own while idling (this is new). Question for the OP (I know it's an old thread) were you throwing any OBD codes? I get several, but the initial one I always seem to get first is P0171, lean condition.

I called a shop here that is generally pretty respectable, but they quoted me $900 including $600 for the pump, and I can get the AC Delco pump for less than $300 on Amazon. I'm not inclined to pay this markup. On the other hand, not really excited about dropping the fuel tank myself, either...

 

Post up a NEW thread with your question, Year and MILES, include any recent work done, and ALL the CODES you have. Tacking on the end with the old "identical problem" thing is not usually a good bet.
