Long story short, the Temperature Gage is erratic in my 2010 Alpha/Offroad with 246K. Measuring the Actual Temperature, it does not fluctuate. Bought a used Gage Cluster and everything worked but the mileage showed 113K. I was under the impression that the mileage was stored in the BCM. Was I incorrect in my assumption?

 

The mileage is primarily stored in a memory chip located directly inside the instrument cluster also simultaneously recorded in the BCM.
BCM Syncing: The BCM also retains a record of the vehicle's true mileage. In some models, if you plug in a new cluster, the BCM will transfer the correct mileage to it automatically after a few miles.
