Just wondering if I’m missing something here, are there different size front skid plates for the h3 and h3t? I pulled one off a h3 but the front part doesn’t fit on my h3t. Or is the bumper diff. Sorry the pics suck since I had no room to take them in the garage.

 

hmmm... They should be interchangeable. At least that is what a quick google search shows. It must be an 08-10 skid shield for those years and then an 06-07 is different.

 

I want to say it was a 08 h3 at the junk yard but could be wrong. Just thought they were all the same. I did see that Google says that also lol

 

Thats correct they have different skidplates based on year. 2008+ had a crashbar installed above skidplate to stop the H3 from running on top of small cars in the event of an accident. Some people (myself included) have swapped to the older style for a little better approach angle which requires a new lower bumper section from a 2006-2007 as well since they are a different shape. If you get a ARB bumper they only fit a 2008+ front skidplate.

One issue people will start running into is that as these trucks get sent to the junkyard you will find vehicles that people have already swapped parts around. This is not "proof" that something was OEM but just a case of time and people tinkering on their trucks.

 

Gotcha, yeah, it was a 07 i pulled the plate from. Looks like the 08 and up plates dont have the H3 marking on them. 😢
