Thumbs up

Just completed this... The driver side on my 07 was a bit difficult. My hands aren't all that big, but there was an (tube) obstruction right in the middle of the access panel. The passenger side was a B!T(H... Theres so much in the way it took twice as long. I drilled the grommets, so hopefully, I wont ever have to do this again.
Tried the pressurized air first and had no luck. They drained, but went very slow. Figured I had the time so I might as well do it right!

Thanks for the writeup and the pics.

Hey everybody it seems as though everything on here is all about the front drains. I believe my problem is with the rear drains. After a couple of heavy thunderstorms here in the last couple days I get into my truck and the light in the headliner was dripping water on me but mainly when I was breaking. I tried looking in the gap between the headliner and the roof for the rear drains to try and maybe feed some weed eater wire through it but I can not find them. Also has anyone done the mod to the rear drains pulling the back panels off and cutting out the x?

pulling the rear trim and partly dropping the headliner requires time and patience so you don't crease or fold the liner.
getting at the tubes takes small hands and they are tricky to replace.
they come down just back of the door. a lot of dismanteling!
you might find pics if you search

Have you cleared the fronts already?

I have not done the drilling mod to the front yet. That will be my next project within the next couple of days so I will see and hope that it fixes the problem. I believe that it will.

Have you tested the fronts by pouring water in the channel? I did and they are working fine. I have to park on a hill or jack the front up to test the rears now. I just noticed water pour onto the passengers seat pulling away from my parking space after a hard rain. Might not have had it closed properly too.

I'm going to pour it down the front drains and see. I also need to clean around where the seal is cause I could just be from the dirt allowing it to leak.

it leaks around the rubber seal,it has to,it cannot be a perfect seal. that's why the drains are there.
cleaning the rubber 3-4 times a year and rubbing it with silicone grease will extend its life.
imagine this; getting it replaced if/when it breaks down completely and really leaks. I bet its big bucks.
the grease preserves the rubber but also holds dust so cleaning regularly is important. its hard to do a good job because of a tight fit. I do part with it up, part with it half open. a flat popsickle stick is helpful with a thin cloth around it.
leaving it open to much lets the dirt in.

Broken halo, I know you posted this a long time ago, but it saved my @ss tonight. My floor was soaked because one of my drains became disconnected. It happened to disconnect at the roof under the headliner running down the a pillar onto the carpet, but I also took it out of the firewall and opened up the grommet as well. To my surprise, absolutely nothing was collected on the "x" but I cut it out anyway.

That was awesome. Thanks again for taking the time.
