Does/Did your sunroof ever leak?
why is it whenever i post something i get a smart *** comment?
i already had a weak battery before this happened so i got a free battery out of it. the rain had shorted-out my after market alarm causing it to go off all night and also keeping my radio and lights on till the battery drained. so the dealership blamed it on the rain. enough info for you?

According to the Service Manager at my Hummer Dealer in Nashville, Sun Roof leaks occur quite a bit on the H3's. There are drains on the sun roof that get clogged and you have to undo approximately eight screws or bolts and use a compressor to blow out the clog. In some cases they take out your ceiling fabric fixing this.
It is a couple of hundred dollar fix. If you don't fix the leak the front passenger floor may flood when it rains and it gets musty quick. The mold will probably be toxic. I was wondering if anyone figured out to unclog these without paying the Hummer Service team to fix their Sun Roof Engineer's design flaw This should be a recall in my mind. (Maybe add some gutters, rubber floors with a floor drain, or caulk it
If anyone knows a Do It Yourself Fix, please enlighten me...
Thanks!

My H3 has 'leaked' twice in the past 5 years. In both cases, it was parked outside all night in a driving/windy rainstorm. The next morning the driver's seat and floor were wet, there was water sloshing around above my head, and it poured out from the OnStar microphone when I drove around the corner. Yet, it has never leaked during car washes, even high pressure washes. I will look for the sunroof drainage ports/tubes and see if I can find any visual clogs. Thanks for the info. Jeff - Vienna, VA
I have an 08, H3 Alpha. Noticed my carpet behind drivers sewat was wet. Finally found the cause was the drain holes (2) on the front corners of the drip pan of the sunroof were stopped up. My repairman wanted $300 to try and open, so I purchased a roll of heavy duty weed wacker line and I gently opened up one of the two drains. Could not get the passenger side drain open, but today I will get some water into that passenger side drain and try again. Can't see the rear drain holes. Are there rear drain holes?? How do I access?? If this dosen't fix the problem will have to pay repair person. Any thoughts???
I also have an '08 Alpha, and have been lucky so far...no leaks....but this is covered under your Bumper to Bumper warranty. From what I have read on other threads, there's a fix, where they install larger drain tubes to reduce the problem. If these tubes DO exist, I'd like to have my dealer install them, but I don't think they will until I have a leak (wait till the horse gets out, then close the gate
). Take advantage of your situation and check with them. Be sure to let us know how they handle it.

Every one that has a sunroof needs to learn that cleaning the drains is part of your maintenance not a design flaw. Seriously 5 minutes with an air compressor at low pressure once every few months won't kill you.
It may not be a 'design flaw' in the sense that no matter how big the drain tube is, something bigger may get stuck in it, but using a 'compressor at low pressure' is asking for trouble. I think a better suggestion would be to avoid parking with your sunroof open, where tree debris can get in the tracks/tubes, when possible. What happens when debris gets lodged in the tubes at the 'midpoint' of your foolproof schedule?? If GM didn't feel there was some error in design of the tube diameter, they sure wouldn't have invested in a fix.
I've been trying to find this sam f'in leak for 2 weeks now!! Thanks to ALL of you for the posts!!! Can someone tell me WHERE these drains are located?? I have a 06-Black and love the vehicle!! So I'm looking forward to fixing her!! Thanks again to all..
geeezzz....been through the entire 'Maintenance' section of my owner's manual, and can't find a single reference to your rant
