That’s good info, makes sense now. Hope this thread helps others in the future

 

I know the manual says trans in park and key off. That’s what I plan to do. But it still seems odd to me that the steering wheel would be locked when towing. Just looking for some reassurance from someone who has done this, key off when dinghy towing. Sorry to be a pest on this just don’t want to make a mistake and damage my H3

 

H3 steering wheels do NOT lock. Thing of the past with most GM models.

My 2006 H3 standard transmission has a locking steering column. I have to move the key to the first position to tow with the steering wheel free. Accessories like the radio need to be turned off
