cd changer issue in 06 H3
Does anyone know how to remove a jammed cd from a 2006 Hummer H3 6 disc cd-changer. I got one of the discs out, it seems something got screwed up when it was switching from disc 3-4 and now it won't play or eject anything...I tried pulling the positive battery cable and letting it sit for a good 5 minutes, but it did nothing. If anyone has any clue or ideas that might help please let me know, as it's really frustrating...I can bring it to the dealer but I'm worried I'm not going to be able to get my cd's out. It seems to think it's on cd 3, when in reality cd 3 has been ejected, it seems all screwed up. It has said "initializing" for a while, but that stopped after cd 3 came out, now it just says waiting for 3... thing is all messed up.

RE: cd changer issue in 06 H3
u might wana try literally pulling the power from the unit.just pop the center dash off and there are 4 screws that hold the unit in, then just pull the left one when looking from the back and let is sit for a bit.not sure if it will work but u can give it a go. it took me 5 min to get the radio out when i installed my sir-gm1 tuner and 5 min to put back.so if u got 10 min mayne try it. het something flat to pry the center dash off and grab your socket set for the 4 screws and bingo.good luk

I had two cds that would not eject. The cds were not original, but ones that I burned. They both had Avery Labels on them - Stop using labels and haven't had a problem since. The radio unit was replaced by the dealer under warranty. I didn't ask for the cds back.

RE: cd changer issue in 06 H3
We had this issue, the bad thing was it killed our battery twice before we figured out that this problem withCD changer was connected to the battery dying.Apparently the motor of the CD changer was not turning off and running constant although we could not hear anything.
The dealer for us is almost 3 hours away or we likely would of took it to the shop right away.I pulled the fuses on the radio til we got it replaced , it was all fixed for nothing...and works great now (knock on wood). I forgot to get our CDs whne I picked up the H3, and two days later they were in our mailbox (that is when I realized I left them)
Long distance from the dealership is not easy, but these folks really treated us first class and understood what it took for us just to get there.
Just a heads up should you find your battery dead and have a CD changer problem.
