CD changer question.

CD changer question.
The dealer told me that you loose the 6 disk changer with the factory navigation. He said they can take a factory changer and put it where the On Star is and put that where the map lights & sun roof switch are, is that correct? I should have the truck in 10-14 days. I wrapped a diecast H2 with a note telling my wife her new truck will be here soon or if she wanted black we could go get it tomorrow. She was very happy

RE: CD changer question.
...or, they can install a remote 6-disc CD changer under the rear seat, leaving the 'OnStar' controls unaffected, and tie the changerinto the existing nav unit...like I have in my H2; however, I'm still trying to figure-out how it operates...lol.

RE: CD changer question.
Update: Well, the dealer finally got my H2's CD changer towork this afternoon. Although I knew that it was getting power (cartridge would eject and install okay), yet for some reason it would still not operate like the remote changerin my Corvette. Along the lines of a thread I read over at CorvetteForums.com describing a similar problem a forum member was having withhis Eclipse system afterinadvertently disconnecting his Corvette's batteryfor some unknown reason, I was advised by my dealer that theyhad to reset my H2'sremote 6-discCD changer's code. Evidently, sometime while it had sat on the lot prior to being delivered to me, somehow the battery had become disconnected which in turn placed the changer into a reset mode. Today, once the dealer's technician was able to reset the required system code, voila...success! The remote 6-discCD changer now operates as it should...fromthe disc button locatedon the in-dash nav unit.
