Anybody out there install a cb in their hummer H3? I was wondering where you installed the antenna and ran the coax

Installed one a few weeks ago... Mounted the antenna on a generic mount between the spare tire and mounting rack. Ran the coax through the rear cabin vent in the door, through the rubber connector between the rear door and cabin between the hinges. Had to remove the rear left side panel, under the carpet to the rear of the front console whee I mounted my CB. Sounds pretty easy, but was a real pain making it look invisible.

 

I have a side cowl mount on the driver's side, just behind the front fender. Ran the coax into the engine compartment, then thru the firewall.
It kind of balances the truck with the OEM radio antenna on one side, the CB antenna on the opposite side.

 

Where did you get the mount and antenna from ? I like that

Do a search, you can get this from many places online. Best price is about $42 for the whole setup.

 

After seeing Bungers cowl mount in person many years ago I followed suit on 3 different Hs.

I am also a fan of the balanced look with the AM/FM on one side and the CB on the other.

Hey Bunger; I bought the same antenna and want to mount it where you did yours.....How did you get it through the firewall. The only grommet I see is for the hood release cable (which is way too small). Thanks!
