Can anyone give me any suggestions on where I can mount a Firestik LG3M2-W CB antenna. I know it's usually mounted on the cowl side of the vehicle (where the GM emblem is mounted), but I can't seem to be able to screw it from the engine compartment side. I've seen another thread that someone else did it that way and wrote to him, but no answer (thread is 5 years old). Anyway, your help is appreciated. Thank you.
Mount to the Driver Front Fender.
Remove the Driver Front inner fender (plastic wheel well) to have access to the inner Driver Front Fender.
Drill your holes, connect the wires without grounding them, run the antennae wire to the appropriate area inside the vehicle.
Tune the Firestick with SWR meter and you are done.
If you are wheeling with the firestick on the Driver Front Fender purchase a light antennae spring for the base or you will rip it off the fender on a tree branch.
DO NOT run the light spring while normal driving or it will whip back and forth smacking your mirror, windshield, A pillar cover, etc.
