Default Buying a H3

I was wondering if I could get some knowledge about what to look for when buying a used H3. This one I am going to look at is a 07 but I m unsure about the trim of it I believe it’s lux but with adventure because it has the rear lockers. Any common areas for rust? My common problem areas in general?

There is a wide range of things to look for like you would on any used vehicle.
-Mileage
-Service Records
-Tire condition
-Inspection of undercharge for damage
-General inspection of ext and interior condition
If you are serious about a certain H3 you could pay to have a report to see if it were damaged in accidents.

Specific to the H3 ask what kind of off road use if any the user did. Certainly take it for a test drive. It pays to have a mechanic go over the vehicle if you are serious to put it up on a lift and give it a good going over for rock rash etc. The 07 model year have the 3.7 I5 engine which was a slight upgrade over the original 3.5 I5 in the 06 model year. For trim levels go to kelly blue book and others for baseline pricing.

Good luck and do your homework there are lots of things left out here...

I was just wondering like common rust areas if h3 has them. Like my dodge truck they always rust above the rear wheel wells. The Milage is good 106,000, interior looks a little scuffed. I was also reading something about the radiator having small cracks or leaks because it’s plastic in certain h3 models. So I want to check for that.

H3
- rear doors, inner-lower (rust)
-front fender behind the flares near the door (rust) - you can check from the inside with the door open, between the door and the fender at the bottom. If it's full of krap remove it and look for rust holes.

Look at the radiator carefully, the I5 vibrations like to cause leaks if the top of the radiator tank is in contact with the core support.

With the I5s, I would also want service history records showing all maintenance was done timely. I would want to know when the last fluid change was for Diffs &T Case and fluid & filter for the Trans.

Lux = leather seats, locking rear diff = Adventure. Add the two together, Lux offroad.

Please remember that the last Hummer H3 to be built new was nearly a decade ago. Mine has started to rust at passenger rear door.
