I know we had a thread about this going for awhile and thought I'd start a new one instead of Necro bumping.

The bottom of the 06 H3 rear passenger side door has already been redone a year or two ago and now the drivers is bubbling up and peeling with nasty rust bleed.
Ran about $250 to get passenger side repaired.

The 07 H3 is now starting the tell tale signs of the same issue at the bottom of the rear doors.

There has got to be an economical way to reduce this issue from occurring in the first place?

What if anything have you found, done????

Mine were already well on the way when I got the truck. Prevention. Keep rubber door seals and the door clean. The dirt will act like sand paper with body flex and the door opening and closing. Get your vehicle oil sprayed, not undercoated. It's messy, but it works. Solution. Use Loctite extend rust neutralizer on the rust. Use self etching primer before you paint. This only slows the inevitable. Don't forget to check the back door. Mine is starting to rust there too.

 

its an inside job. once seen outside its too late to stop. outside treatment is a band aid, no fix.
i spray oil in mine a few times a year till it runs out each end. spray in small vent holes .
foaming penetrating oil sticks good, (i guess!), cant see in!
