So apparently this anti theft pass lock is a major problem for multiple people...I have dealt with it only a few times over the last few years...but the last 2 days my h3 has only actually started 3 of the 15 times I have needed to drive it...tonight when I tried to start it there is just this whirring sound coming from somewhere that wouldn’t stop uNtil I unhooked the battery..any ideas what this could be?? This is where it is coming from
Your pic is from a 2007 H3, not 06. You circled the Intake Manifold, ain't nothin in there to make your whirring sound. Probably your secondary air injection pump under it. Pumps air into the exhaust at start up to reduce emissions.
Likely not your problem..... If it goes, or the purge valve goes, they throw a CEL almost very time without fail. Can make starting hard and cause rough idle.
