Thanks for the link. Can the sensor be bought alone? If I change the whole switch I would need to re key the door locks right?

There was NO sensor in that thread.............. the guy from down under called it a "sensor", but it is the IGNITION SWITCH. Your homework assignment is to go read the thread I linked again.
You would then note that in that thread I stated that the key just turns the switch, it is not part of it.

If you want to re-key the door lock, you could, but since replacing the ignition switch would still use your current key, then you would have two keys, one for the door and one for the ignition.

Let's try it again. Pull the switch, clean the contacts, put the switch back in, test = done. Just like I am done with this.

I did see he had a new switch and saw he only replaced the sensor, how could I use my current key with the new switch? does the new switch come with a key?

The IGNITION SWITCH is mounted at the base of the IGNITION LOCK HOUSING/CASE.
The IGNITION LOCK CYLINDER
(
89022365 89022365
)
is a separate part(NOT INCLUDED WITH IGNITION SWITCH/CASE
(

).

OK, the guy in the video called the IGNITION SWITCH a "sensor" because he did not know WTF the thing was he was replacing. THERE IS NO SENSOR.

There are three parts in the steering column that start the H3: 1) the keyed ignition lock cylinder;

2) the Ignition Case that #1 goes inside of;

and, 3) the IGNITION SWITCH........... otherwise known as the black thingy with 2 friggin screws attaching it to the Ignition Case opposite the key.

They can be purchased together as a complete assembly, parts #2 & #3 as a partial assembly, or individually as separate parts. Should be easily apparent now that the keyed cylinder is separate from the switch.... ie. you can use your current key with a new switch. However, you likely do not need a new switch, just clean the contact on the old one. We suggested the solution, do whatever you want.

A pic of #2 & #3 put together.

Hummerz got the jump on me.

I am tired of translating the obvious to the oblivious.

You can start the vehicle with a flat blade screwdriver inserted into the switch.
