Default 2008 H3 rattle

Hey, just wanted to throw this out there and see if anyone else has had a similar problem... I've been getting a really annoying rattling sound, seemingly from the rear of the car. I notice it mostly when I'm accelerating but also sometimes when I'm at a stand still. Someone suggested it might be the muffler/exhaust pipe? Any clues?? Thanks!

What have you checked so far? You do realize you can't find the rattle posting in an online forum? Get down and dirty, crawl under and bang around with a rubber mallet or your hand, until you hear the rattle. Reply when you find the rattle.

this is the easiest fix I have come across a caveman can fix this. First go the the back of the h3 and climb under follow the muffler back just a little bit you should see a heat shield. That heat shield has clamp that breaks and will sound like a chain hitting making you think something is more seriously wrong with your h3. My clamp looked like it was still attached. But it’s was snapped. slapped a hose clamp on there and no more noise. I hope this is your issue

Can not reccomend the above enough mine had the same issue.

First thing i did when i got my H3. Go learn the underside of your vehicle, buy some extra metal clamps and tighen down or replace the existing ones with stainless ones.

Then go to your engine bay and check the connection of parts there i found that my airbox catch was broken and cause a bit of a rattle when driving over rougher (normal) michigan roads.
