2006 H3 towing
Maximum towing capacities: 3,000 lb (1,361 kg) for the straight-5 with manual transmission, 4,500 lb (2,041 kg) for the straight-5 with automatic transmission, and 6,000 lb (2,722 kg) for the V8 with automatic transmission.
.Many factors go into towing, the tow rating is only part of the actual weight you can safely tow. The GCWR (Gross Combination Weight Rating) is the most important information you need. It's on the door sticker with the tire inflation information.
Tongue weight can cause the vehicle to exceed the GVWR (Gross Vehicle Weight Rating) or the RGAWR (Rear Gross Axle Weight Rating) too.
People will come in and say "oh I've towed 10,000lbs 2,000 miles with no issues" or " I'm just going 5 miles to the lake, it's OK".
Just because someone may have done it does not make it safe, legal nor will your insurance company cover any damages or medical if you towed over the limit of your vehicle.
Download your Owners Manual from GM.

You should still be able to tow it, the description of "no problem" is a different matter. Hook that up and see how hard that 3.5L has WORK to do it and get ready for the old tail wagging the dog feeling. My 07 with every performance mod you can think really had to strain. The H3 short wheelbase is not a towing plus.
