Hello, I bought a 2007 Hummer H3 that someone swapped a 2008 engine into, It does run but poorly, and hard starting, The 08 has 1 cam sensor instead of the 07 having 2, Can I get my ECM modified for this and who does stuff like that...The engine is a 3.7, Right now its got the 07 sensor and plug pigtail in it, I bought an 08 sensor and plug and it wouldnt start at all...Any Help Out There Would be Appreciated

you have inherited what we call in the field a basket case.
you will have to retrace everything the previous owner did and start again to find the fault.

 

I hear ya, Unfortunatley I bought at an auction not knowing it had a engine swap done,It seems they put the 08 engine in and kept the 07 computer and harness, Im reading on other sites that the reluctor wheels are different and have to be changed? I was hoping that the computer could be changed or tuned to accept this, Anyone know if thats a possability?

 

well... a good solution is to take and send the truck back to auction. add what you are about to spend sorting out the vehicle and buy an unmolested one. but not everyone will like that suggestion.

 

There is an H3 engine swap group on bookface. May want to check it out and ask questions. They have seen just about everything.

 

Only the very early 07 H3s had two cam sensors, the rest do not.
