485lbs plus a winch = around 620lbs (less with synthetic line)
620lbs VS another vehicle, tree, deer, etc. and thousands of dollars in repairs or even a totaled vehicle.
I'll take the added weight any day!

I would agree with you on a newer vehicle, however a totaled 07 would only bring around $6k insurance today. Carrying that extra weight will also turn into a loss in fuel economy=added expense. Btw, my H3 insurance vehicle coverage is only $82.40yr.

$1,067usd a year for a $6k usd total loss vehicle? That's a waste of money. I dropped collision(my H3 wont be covered, ONLY if it's my fault)

Over here the insurance laws seem also different. Exemple: even my 15 year old H3 is covered by a full option insurance that i choose and pay 1067$. That means if the damage caused on my rig, no matter who did that damage, is lower than the price of the vehicle, all is gonna be take in charge by my insurance.
In case of injuries, the insurance takes the charges too. (exept: injuries caused to others do drugs, alcohol , try to suicide yourself etc)
So yes, it's a lot of cash, but I'm cool all the year with my rig

Same on this side of the pond, I carry $300k personal injury, $100k property damage, +comprehensive, which covers repairs on the other vehicle if it's my fault. + I have uninsured coverage(which will cover my vehicle damage if it's not my fault and the other driver did not have insurance). Bottom line, if I totaled my H3,my fault, I could get what the insurance company would give me, parting it out, or repair it myself and still have money saved on insurance cost.

Over here, our technical inspection is like the German TÜV the best and most sever around. If's ****ed up some times but, no junk cars on our streets. No rusted chassis or bodys allowed, bad breaks or tires, lights , turn signals, from suspensions to bearings or U joints... they eaven check wipers and wipers fluid....... Co2.... dude,... they check a car like it's rolling from factory dealer. After 35 to 45 minutes check you're realy pissed off and happy when you get the Carpas back with mentioned : passed and allow to drive on street.

I pay the double of your H3 insurance only for my Suzuki SJ Samurai 1.3 carb. from 1991, 180 € , but yes all is taken in charge

I Ended up getting the Orion, they had just one in stock some guy flaked out on his deal so its now mine. I have a aluminum rad already being waiting to put in, then I'm doing the electric conversion and also adding the same engineering from my bmw and adding electric fan in front of condenser, following this concept in regards to the set up.

I also added the dynomax exhaust, that should free up some ponies.
