Hummer H2 For those who like a little more gleam to their Hummer, the H2 offers a similar rugged look as the H1, but as a lower cost, and with more added features, making it almost a massive luxury SUV.

What have you done to your h2 today?

So I stopped on the Hyw 475 ( georgia)(10pm) to find out the tranny hose to the cooler disconnected so all the tranny fluid was spilled every where ( all this with a kid amd 3 dogs )

Tow the truck to nearest hotel next day hook hose back with 2 clams this time and add 6 qt of transmission fluid

Also got to wash all the truck . Oil was everywhere then drove to Tennessee stoping every 50 miles to check everything

Lesson learned , a highway or Hotel far from home is a bad place to change tranny oil .

Good news . I get to know wonderful people in georgia who help me .. and the tranny didnt suffer any damage

For my Trucool transmission cooler installation I used a Flaring Tool for the Tubing's to keep hoses tight in place similar to the attached. It's now been over a year without a drop on the ground, not to mention i live in a country where temperatures reach 122f

Synthetickiller:

I run Mobil 1 full synthetic in all my vehicles I have ever owned. With the H2 I usually go around 6,000 miles give or take before changes. The larger filter and increased capacity should allow to push out that mileage IMO.

The leak is not the kits fault but mostly mine. The threads on the nipples are cut very sharp and not rolled. I put quite a bit of Teflon tape on the threads but the one is still leaking even after tightening more yesterday. The nipples do not thread into the housings at either the engine side or the filter side very far for some reason. I'm going to loosen the hose clamp on the leaking nipple and just keep cranking it down. I guess if the threads pop or whatever I'll be throwing a stock filter back on...I'll keep you guys updated.

Finally, received my packages from US last week. Can't wait to install all of the stuff. Just got the time today to install the Hood Latch Spring set,New Chrome side vent and Airdoc intake. Next maybe the flare set or the cabin filter...

Got no issue with the two installation except the Airdoc. Having a hard time to fix the supplied clam and I ended up re-use the factory clamp. Doesn't make any different tho...

Very satisfied by far...

I can't remember what I am running now, brand-wise. I know it's DEXOS 1, full synthetic. I'm sitting around 6 to 7k miles now. I will push it to 10k. I don't see why I can't.

Thanks for that clarification. Sounds like the kit is not the best designed. Too much teflon tape can be more of a problem than a solution. You should only need enough to help seal the threads. Too much can cause a leak. Ask me how I know.

Yes, please keep us up to date. I won't jump into this upgrade on the H3 until I see how it goes for you. It's kind of disappointing that the barbs are not cleanly rounded at the end. Water cooling parts for computers use barbs & I haven't had any single issues of the edge being sharp. I wonder what the threading type is (G-1/4"?). You might be able to order some WC'ing gear if it would fit the tubing ID. There's some really nice compression fittings out there.

Hopefully, you have no other issues.

I had thought about doing -AN fittings as I've used them in the past and talk about leak proof! Problem if you can end up dropping hundreds of dollars in those fittings and the stainless braided lines. It does look really nice when its all done though. Only issue is the one shop who has the stuff on hand is very far from me. The kit came with everything so I just used what it came with. The hose is actually Continental hose so its great quality. I tightened the one connection a bit when I noticed the leak. While it still looks to be leaking it is extremely minimal.

I haven't had a chance to mess with it anymore-been working on installing a new in wall swamp cooler in the garage as my tiny AC unit was worthless in 115 degrees. I'll keep you updated!

Thanks for the pic . I knew something like that is what I need but now with the pic I know exactly what to look for

I was lucky nothing happened to the transmission . . Loosing all the fluid (7qt) at 75 mph could had lead to a new tranny . Im just back home . Will spend some time this week to fix it with the flaring tool.

Also had to change the cheap fluid used while on the road and filter
