Hummer H2 For those who like a little more gleam to their Hummer, the H2 offers a similar rugged look as the H1, but as a lower cost, and with more added features, making it almost a massive luxury SUV.

What have you done to your h2 today?

Just changes my pads and rotors a few days ago. Had to heat up the front caliper bracket bolts to get them loose.

I attempted to change the rotors today. Absolutely failed.

I am not sure about the 2003 - 2007 models, but the 2008-2009 require a Torx T55 bit to remove the caliper. Lowes only had up to T50 in stock, so I have to wait.

In the mean time, I'm ordering this 35 piece set:

I'll work on it Sunday or early next week.
Nothing has been simple on this H2, but it's getting done.

O'Reillys has a set that goes up to t55. I was pretty pissed when I got to the back brakes as well. I had to run to town real quick to find one

Thanks. That's good to know!
I'm just getting the set as I always need a size I don't have.
$5.49 + tax is steep when I'm paying about $1 a socket/bit.
I can wait till Wed to knock it out.

Should had told about the t55 . Any auto store will have it
Btw dont be afraid to hit the rotors . I got to use a 7 pnd hammer and hit everyway to get it out
the 2 bolts holding the bracket could be a problem to get loose but it is cause thread lock was used before . Nothing a pipe couldn't fix

No problem.
I bought the service manual off of ebay for my 2009. I figured it would say what tools were needed. Nope...

I have a 30% or 50% chance of rain through next week, so I'll have to hold off. I need to pick up a 7 lb hammer, now that you mention it!

04 H2. Shifter stuck in P in Publix parking. Called AAA. Had AAA driver to manually move it into D and heading straight to the repair shop near my house. Need a new cable.

Those brake bolts are no joke. I've had to completely remove both my fronts to replace broken studs. The majority of my time was spent trying to break those damn bolts loose!

Yep . I spend 60% of the time looking for a pipe to help the breaker tool 30 % getting it loose and 10 % installing
NO bad thought
