Hummer H2 For those who like a little more gleam to their Hummer, the H2 offers a similar rugged look as the H1, but as a lower cost, and with more added features, making it almost a massive luxury SUV.

What have you done to your h2 today?

I see, thanks for the explanation...

Would it be possible to get a few shots of the Hummer, i would like to see how it looks...

also i am curious, just where did you jack up the body, is there an areaa under the body, that you can recommend...

I had access to a lift but you can do it with jacks....2 per side. I cut some long 4x4 pieces of lumber and jacked them up into the body. There is no particular spot to jack the body so use a flat piece of wood to distribute the weight best you can.
I had to really jack the rear up high to fit the spacers in back there.

The pics don't do it justice....I feel like I'm a mile higher driving it now and it looks great with the stock wheels.

Went night wheelin. First time in mud with the toyo at2. They did not perform well And clogged up easily. Had to get tugged out by an f250 powerstroke. Thankfully I got to return the favour later on. Hill climbing I also wasn't impressed. Wishing I didn't sell my stock rims now. Should have mounted some 37 m/T's for such occassions

This is why I'm always mentioning the AT2s in a negative light. I had the same thing happen on the Ram 2500 I sold. Those tires suck in mud & really just suck as a whole. They don't wear quickly, but since they wear like iron, they ride like iron too.

If you sell the AT2s, what will you get?
The MTR looks like a nice mud tire vs some of the offerings of others, but I have no experience with it, yet.

What do you think the problem was that improved the ride quality? I wouldn't think control arms would matter unless there was a lot of play.

Post some pics anyways! I want to see how they look. This is on my to-do list.

I'll be doing this soon.
I've only been hesitant, as I want to replace basically all of the front suspension (ball joint, control arms, idler, pitman, etc) & would rather not have to remove everything all over again.

I see a lot of people replacing the UCAs, just why are they needed to be replaced, outside of just a better quality item, or do they help with lift of front end, i have traxda keys installed, will UCAs help in getting more height

Depends on your set up.

Moog has an UCA that allows for dual shocks to be mounted.

Other custom UCAs are built for suspension lifts; that's correct.

The duramax store has kryptonite UCAs that, according to reviews, really improve the ride quality, especially over bumps.

Ball joints, bushings, & bump stops get worn. Bumpstops are not the real issue here, but ball joints & bushings can cause problems. Look at your differential crossmember. If you have shaking in the steering wheel & pedals, that could be the cause. And that's my point, it's a ride quality issue.

I'm replacing mine for the 3rd reason.
The owner of my current H2 beat the poor thing to hell & basically everything in the suspension is being replaced. Once I get it installed, I'll update on my experience. The bushings are all dry rotted out & I believe the ball joint is shot. I'll know for sure once everything's replaced.

I really wish you hadn't done that!
I really don't want to have to drop $1600 (if it's $1400, might as well drop $200 more on the upgrade). I might have to justify the cost though, as I need to rebuild all of it anyways.

I wonder if the swaybar endlinks are better than stock.
I have the endlinks provided by hellwig & they are good. The whole kit was $130ish for the front as well as the end.
I need some endlinks for the back, though. I wonder if there exists an upgrade. I haven't seen one yet.

I'm really debating between the black or red UCA. I'm not sure yet. Red matches the adjuster on my shocks. Black blends in. I'd probably do the LCA in the same color.

Speaking of which, did you see the Kryptonite LCA? It's a $900 set!
