Default transmission upgrade

Have acquired 2005 H2, making fresh and updating systems on it. Leaning forward concerning tranny, have seen somewhere mention of tranny kit to convert to 6L80 from 4L60???
I have 6.0L
Any advise or has anyone here had this done, my engine has 139,000 original miles, strong, I'm second owner and confident it is worthy of new tranny mate.
Thanks in advance for any help

Also looking for exterior tire mount and misc. parts

This will get you started. Its not an easy swap and you might want to check out the gear ratio differences to see if you even want to bother. The 4l60 can be built to last.

I would just build the 4l60. From much experience, the 6l80s are worse in terms of reliability. They usually don't break 80k miles. The gear ratios aren't a whole lot of benefit. 1st gear in the 6l80 is too low, and it just gives you an extra overdrive, so not enough benefit to spending money on one rather than upgrading a 4l60 for reliability.
