Hummer H2For those who like a little more gleam to their Hummer, the H2 offers a similar rugged look as the H1, but as a lower cost, and with more added features, making it almost a massive luxury SUV.
So I got one of the Tesla style Android units for my Birthday. Began the install process and realize the first snag is moving the HVAC unit to the lower position. In its native spot it is held in with 4 posts which feed thru 4 Square holes and clip in. The screws are essentially optional. But in the lower area, there are no corresponding holes so no way to get the unit to fit flush. Curious what others who may have installed one of these has done. As I see it my 2 options are to drill some square-ish holes in the frame or cut the pegs off the HVAC unit and use the screws only.
Anyone done this??
Some wiring/setup questions will come next! 🤪😁
probably simpler to drill peg holes, like that you retain the pegs in case you want to put the old setup back in place as origional.
That was my thought too. But it turns out they made provisions to mount the HVAC control unit to the back of the new frame, and come to find out the area it need to shove into the bottom edge will be right on the bottom. Gonna try putting some holes in the side frame first, but may have to whittle out more than I expected to.
Initially thought the screw holes would align with the old onstar unit screw tabs already there, but no cigar. Will have to adapt and overcome.
