Hummer H2For those who like a little more gleam to their Hummer, the H2 offers a similar rugged look as the H1, but as a lower cost, and with more added features, making it almost a massive luxury SUV.
Im at the point where I'm going to cut the wire and weld the damn hole shut. Then run wires down the molding on the outside of the truck that goes under the hood and tie them into the fuse box. It was pouring down rain today and I'm pissed about having to wipe my dash off every 5 minutes.
my mechanic proposed the same thing, lol. I wonder if newer model gmc 2500 series with clearance and markers have a better solution now?
I bought a roll of Flex Seal tape to try sealing up the grommets where they come through the roof. Cut a square of tape, and cut a slit halfway across. Slide the wire through the slit, and stick it down. Then repeat, turning the tape around 180 degrees, so the slit on the first piece is covered, and the slit on the second piece is over the first piece of tape.

Hopefully this works.
5 month follow up:
It took forever to get some rain but we finally did. I parked it outside and the interior is as dry as can be - I gotta say this worked well.
3M 5200 is the best stuff you can get for a sealer. They make it for below the water line hull fittings on boats. But there's a warning. You'll end up breaking your marker lights if you ever try to remove them. The stuff is like permanent.

You should be gluing the grommet where the wire goes through the roof - not the light to the roof rail.

Correct. Use it in the places the water actually intrudes into the cabin. Yet how many times have we seen marker lights with massive amounts of RTV sticking out from under the edges? Also it should be noted that RTV isn't exactly great stuff on painted metal. Often leads to corrosion.
