Man That would really **** Me off.
I just went around and did all new marker lights and gaskets. And I can see and feel the trail of wet on the headliner coming from that corner. It pools up and when braking rolls over the front of the headliner and onto the dash.

At least with the new gaskets and lights water doesn’t poor out of the overhead console when I accelerate anymore😂

every so often i have to wiggle or reseat the center lights and gaskets so that water will not come down the overhead. it feels like highway driving lifts them and pushes dust/dirt/debris under.

I did my rear Marker lamps as I was getting water in the rear outer headliner. I bought a set of After market chrome trim marker lamps on Amazon. I prepped the gasket seating area using denatured alcohol and scrubbing the surface flat and smooth. The gaskets that came with this kit were not foam but a thick rubberized material. So far no leaks. I think it's all in the prep of the sealing surface.

The other problem seems to be the way they snap the lens's down with that tab. There is only a single point of force on the lens to gasket. You can't make it any tighter. At least in the old school days lens on cars and trucks were screwed on.

Maybe try an after market set with better gaskets. There cheap.

Look at these...

I completely feel this.. against all advice here I just replaced my gaskets/bulbs and silicone sealed them down again. I use a plastic electronics separating tool to remove the silicone after soaking with mineral spirits. Is it a pita.. yep. But also better than leaking which just shorted out my discontinued stock amp, and left me without any interior audio and cabin sound.

most of my leaks are corrected bc of this remediation. However, I have a good buddy who is a bodyman and amazing painter at a body shop locally. He said without question that the seam seal tape in the rain channels which, is showing cracks, is the culprit.. showing me the headliner stains as evidence of where the intrusion is outside of the clearance light leaks.

my next improvement is having those seals replaced with Eastwood urethane sealant and painted.

i just did major overhaul of the entire exhaust system and am recovering $$$$ lol, but it’s the next project for my 08.

two cans of silicone and it still leaks, if you park the H2 on an incline it doesn’t leak if you turn the truck around where the nose is down, it leaks, driving down the road in the rain, water coming down from liner on the rear view mirror, Hummer wants $800 just to inspect it, then for repairs who knows …..I tried a smoke bomb and pressurized the cab, just cannot find the leak very frustrating, siliconed both holes under lights, windshield, around every clearance light, living in a condo, I cannot remove the head liner, so I’m just baffled….so I drive it on sunny days, and drive our H3 when it’s raining for now….

Well, Some peeps think the water comes down the roof rail into that opening under the Big Marker lamp over the drive side. Then it runs down the "A" piler outside plastic trim. . Years ago I had mine off as I was checking every thing for the source of the leak. When I pulled that out side Vertical plastic trim piece off it was packed with tree berbere. Little pieces of round wooden chips and pine needles.

Pretty sure the water runs in the roof channel. That's why when you park nose down the water runs into the hole at the end of the roof channel and under there somewhere it drains down thru the Outside Trim on the "A" Piler. If you Park Nose up... it runs down the rear exit channel some where. At one point years ago I blocked the channel off at that hole with Plumbers putty. Then the channel would stay filled with water. Bad idea... So I removed the putty and used some fiber glass typed screen door material over the hole to keep the gack out of there. But it still leaked.

In the interim, you might try blocking that hole off temporally till the weather turns and you maybe address it further. I'm sure some of the guys here can chime in and add to this post. This is one of the most posted topics over the years.

I plan on pulling the roof rails out (Big PITA) and 3 M Seem sealing the pinch welds in that roof area.

There are very few leak points. Windshield glue, sunroof, inboard marker lights, corner grommets under marker lights, and door weatherstripping.

- double up the replacement gaskets on inboard lights.
- check sunroof drains
- find hidden rear corner marker light grommets
- do NOT use silicone. Ugh! Does not stick well to rubber grommets.
- use urethane, same as the windshield adhesive.
-pull off body weatherstrip at front door and inspect for leakage underneath.
-use a buddy with a hose to spray suspect areas while you sit inside and look for water ingress.

yes, it could be more sinister like an air blower leaking, but unlikely.

There, done!

I dont think I would have gone that route with the tube of silicone- looks pretty molested- lol.
They do & can come become sealed if you take the time to address each potential leakpoint.... I have a 2006 WITH a sunroof and can do automated car washes with super high water and dryer pressures & remain leak free,
Take a hose with higher pressures and spray at each potential leak spot. Seal each issue & try again the next day (after any PROPERLY applied sealant has had time to dry).
Read prior leak posts & just rule out/correct one at a time.
