Default Sealing the roof light leak

Sealing the front roof light leak (unsure if rears leak?)sean a few videos of ppl replacing gaskets, I don’t see any gaskets just a large sponge pad under the whole lens.

I’m thinking the rain water enters interia though the round grommet? Like the water enters though the roof rack rail then though the round grommet.

Planning to glue the round grommet, thanks for any tips.
do the small lights also leak or just the large outside lights?

The foam gasket on the amber lens needs to be replaced.

correct. That sponge pad is the gasket. You will probably have to buy a set so do them all. I found my clips get bent taking them on and off so make sure you adjust them so you get a good tight fit. Probably controversial, but I also added a thin film of silicone. Not globbed on but just a thin film.

you can buy a whole set with new LED lights on amazon for about what the gaskets will cost.

Seal the lens mount> there's another opening underneath:

I did this about 5 years ago with 100% silicone. The corners are leaking again now. Someone needs to find a better solution for this.

Mine still leaks... I did all the sealing everywhere and still gets damp over the Grab Handle on the "A" pillar. Me thinks it's the friggen pinch weld at the roof. Which means...pull the roof tracks off and 3 M seam sealer. Not looking forward to that deal.

GM did come up with a solution, they just quit making the Hummer H2😀. I just look at this as one of the many maintenance items that need to be performed. Every so often one of the new LED lights go out on the top markers, and when I replace it, I clean and reseal them all.

Yeah I hear Yah..... It's gotten to the point where that's the way I look at it. I even have a special Savings account for the H2. I know something somewhere is gone-a buy the farm. It's like having that Auto insurance that advertises on TV telling you it'll break down sometime. So, I might as well put the money in the savings each week. Sort of like paying for the break down insurance.

But alas ..we all love our H2's.

Im at the point where I'm going to cut the wire and weld the damn hole shut. Then run wires down the molding on the outside of the truck that goes under the hood and tie them into the fuse box. It was pouring down rain today and I'm pissed about having to wipe my dash off every 5 minutes.

I didn't realize yours was that bad. I think the area where it's leaking in mine is now filled with tree gack....and partially clogged. But I still get a seepage over the grab handle. Yours it sounds like is leaking into the center Marker lamps if it's dropping down on your dash.

Man That would really **** Me off.
