Today, I was cruising on the PanAmerican hwy, new tires (42 psi) and new air filter. After my $800+ tire purchase, the dealer gave a free bottle of fuel additive (probably out of guilt). I still had about 3/4 tank of gas (95 octanes) and took off for a 260 mile trip. As soon as I entered the hwy, I set my cruise control at 55mph, sat back and relaxed as traffic was very light.

This is what I got right before arriving at my destination (no stops, no slow downs and some tailwind)

I had to do some math to believe my eyes but it seems a legit reading...


18.7 mpg!!!

LOL, of course not but, that is exactly what I asked myself!

Anyhow Phil, please just don’t spoil this wonderful memory that I will cherish for years to come ;-))

Right after I took the pic, the last 20 miles were uphill...

One thing that definitely helped a little was that my A/C wasn’t working and that surely added at least 1mpg.

I promise I won’t post any pics of my trip back with the first 20 miles 100% downhill 😝
