The black plastic part is not an old headlight. That is the bucket - the black plastic part visible around the edges of the headlights from the front - it also goes behind them some as shown.... Still not cutting the hood in any way though.

Do I need to disassemble and sandwich the led between the front face and rear bucket?

It does get sandwiched.... at the top in that pic you can see one of the small torx screws that you need to remove to get the entire back half off.

That is what I used...... an oscillating saw or a jigsaw would also work. Maybe even a hacksaw blade wrapped in tape in a pinch.

I prefer/use my reciprocating saw for my cut through projects.

I'll get some shots at night with the low and high beams on later.

Next mod: LED bulb for the factory DRL's. Anyone want to recommend a replacement. I'd like to match the new headlight color range. I don't care if the DRL's cast light. I just want them bright enough to match the new DRL's in the headlights.

I'm also going to do the jumper mod in the fuse box to keep the DRL's on when the headlights kick on.

hey where did you get your headlights?

Hey, you mind pointing me in the right direction of where you obtained your headlights pictured.
